The École internationale Gaston Thorn (EIGT) is one of Luxembourg’s public European schools. It offers multilingual education through English-, French-, and German-language sections and follows the European Schools curriculum leading to the European Baccalaureate. At time of writing (2026) this school is new (since 2023) and still expanding, it has not yet graduated a cohort therefore there are very few hard statistics available.

EIGT is led by a school director (Jessie Medinger, at time of writing, 2026) operating within the framework of Luxembourg’s public European school system. The school states that democracy is one of its three core institutional pillars and promotes student participation as part of its educational philosophy. As with many schools, governance includes formal structures intended to represent different stakeholders, including students and parents, however none of these bodies have the ability to overrule the director or to compel the attention of the director to any discussion.
